Freedom Rides for 13 Pomimos: A Fresh Start with Ruff Start Rescue

Last week, 13 Pomimos (American Eskimo/Pomeranian mixes), 3 adults and 10 puppies, took their freedom rides from a local impound and joined Ruff Start Rescue!
The first group includes adorable mama PomPom and her five tiny Vikings-themed nuggets, Skol, Goldie, Touchdown, Vika, and Spike. The second group with puppies, Moscato, Merlot, Pinot, Champagne, and Demi has something extra special going on. The puppies had been nursing from two moms, Sangria and Chardonnay, and no one knew exactly who belonged with whom. To keep everyone safe and together, an amazing foster welcomed both mamas and all five pups, so no one was left behind. 💜
These families came from a tough past where a breeding situation spiraled out of control. Circumstances like this can be especially dangerous for young puppies—crowded shelter environments put them at higher risk of illness and stress, and without rescue stepping in, their futures are uncertain. Thanks to our incredible fosters, these little ones are now safe, cared for, and looking forward to brighter days.
Their journey isn’t over yet. On average, it costs $350 per animal for medical care, food, and supplies. With 13 dogs now in rescue, those costs add up quickly.
