At just 7 months old, this young pit bull mix has already endured more than most dogs ever should.
He was found as a stray and brought to Companion Animal Control with multiple dog bite wounds covering his face, neck, and legs. Some wounds were deep. One has since developed into a large abscess on his neck. He is painful, swollen, and in need of immediate surgical care.
And yet, despite everything, he remains incredibly sweet.
Even while uncomfortable, he has shown a gentle, friendly temperament. He passed his dog test. He leans in for attention. He trusts.
Impound clinics operate with limited funding, typically capped at 200 to 250 dollars per animal. They addressed the most urgent visible wounds and started antibiotics, but the deeper injuries and abscess care go beyond what they are able to provide.
Now he is in a Ruff Start Rescue foster home and scheduled for surgery at our Princeton facility. On Monday, our veterinary team will:
Drain the large abscess
Likely place a surgical drain
Thoroughly clean and repair deeper wounds
Neuter him while he is under anesthesia
He did not choose the fight that left him injured. But he deserves the chance to recover safely, comfortably, and completely.
Your support makes that possible.
Because of donors like you, we can say yes to dogs like this young survivor. We can provide skilled medical care, pain management, and a foster home where healing can begin.
He has already proven his resilience. Now we can show him that people can be just as kind as the world has been harsh.
Will you help give this sweet boy the care he needs to heal?
