At just three weeks old, baby Graham should have been safe, warm, and curled up next to his mom. Instead, he was found alone, injured, and fighting to survive. 💔
On Sunday evening, we received an urgent call from our friends at Companion Animal Care & Control about a tiny puppy that had just arrived with multiple wounds and needed immediate help. When we met him, the extent of his injuries was heartbreaking: bite wounds on both ears, his chest, neck, and side, many already infected. One wound near his ear had caused swelling in his face, and his little body carried the unmistakable smell of infection and smoke. He had clearly been suffering.
At only three weeks old, he should still be nursing. We rushed to get him puppy formula and fed him right away, not knowing when he had last eaten. Despite everything, he latched on and ate like a champ. That tiny moment told us everything we needed to know. This little guy is a fighter.
We were told he had been found outside near the light rail earlier that day, with someone trying to get him help. Thanks to quick action and a dedicated foster stepping up immediately, Graham was able to leave that night for a safe, warm home where he could finally start receiving the care he so urgently needed.
Since arriving in foster care, even more concerns have surfaced, including additional wounds, a bulge in his abdomen, and issues with his legs. He’ll be heading to the vet tomorrow so they can assess his injuries and the mystery bulge in his tummy. We’re still learning what his road ahead looks like, but it’s clear he will need ongoing care, close monitoring, and a whole lot of extra love.
And through it all… Graham is still just a baby. He snuggles into his blankets, finds comfort in his little heartbeat stuffie, and even lets out tiny barks when he’s startled, as if to remind us he’s still in there, still fighting.
We don’t know exactly what his future holds yet. But we do know this: we will do whatever it takes to give him a chance at a bright one.
If you’re able to support Graham’s care, your donation will go directly toward the medical treatment he needs to heal.
He’s already fighting so hard. Now he just needs us to fight for him.
