Ridglan Farms beagles are joining Ruff Start Rescue.

Over the past several days, people across the country have followed the story of these beagles with heartbreak, hope, and overwhelming support as 1,500 dogs begin leaving the large-scale breeding facility they’ve spent their lives in. For these dogs, this will be the very first time touching grass, resting on a couch, hearing household sounds, or experiencing gentle love and safety inside a home.

We’re honored to share that Ruff Start Rescue was selected by Animal Humane Society as one of just a few rescue partners in Minnesota helping welcome dogs from this historic release effort. Next Thursday, five of these beagles will make their way to Ruff Start Rescue through Beagle Freedom Project to begin their next chapter.
When they arrive, their journey won’t be over. These beagles will need time, patience, veterinary care, and compassionate foster homes to help them learn how to simply be dogs. Everything about normal life will be brand new to them: toys, soft beds, backyards, affection, routines, and freedom itself.

Over the coming weeks, Ruff Start Rescue will provide medical care, nutritious food, enrichment, and foster support as these dogs slowly decompress and prepare for adoption.

As the world watches these beagles get their second chance, we are incredibly grateful to play even a small role in helping a handful of them move toward brighter futures.
