Now It's Bari's Turn

Bari has already spent her entire life giving to others. Now she needs our help. 💔

For the first three years of her life, Bari lived at Ridglan Farms, a commercial breeding facility that supplied dogs for biomedical and veterinary research. She never knew what it meant to be someone's beloved pet. She never knew the comfort of a couch, the joy of a family, or the freedom to simply be a dog.

When she came to Ruff Start Rescue, everything changed.

Bari found exactly what every dog dreams of finding: a family. Her foster family fell in love and decided to make her theirs forever. After everything she had been through, Bari finally got her happy ending.

But now, just as she was settling into this new life, she has become very sick.

Since late May, Bari has been battling persistent vomiting. Multiple veterinary visits, medications, x-rays, repeat imaging, and supportive care have still not provided answers. She wants to eat. She wants to drink. But she can't keep anything down, and her medical team is continuing to search for the cause.

So far, her care has totaled $2,398.72, and additional diagnostics will still be needed.

It's heartbreaking to watch a dog who has already overcome so much struggle again. Bari has survived life in a research breeding facility. She learned how to be a family dog. She found people who adore her. Now she deserves every opportunity to heal and enjoy the future she's waited so long to have.

Update as of 6/9/26: Thank you all for the suggestions, support, and concern for Bari. 💙 We know so many people have been following her journey and are rooting for her. She is under veterinary care, and our team is working closely with her doctors to determine the cause of her ongoing symptoms and the best next steps. Cases like Bari's can be complicated, and while we wish we had more answers right now, we're taking things one step at a time and following the guidance of her medical team. We'll continue to share updates as we learn more and truly appreciate everyone keeping this sweet girl in their thoughts. With last night's overnight stay, her care is currently over $4,000.
