A Message From Jake Sieben
In January, my fiancée and I rescued Willow—an Alaskan Malamute, Pitbull, and Husky mix—from Ayla’s Acres Rescue in St. Augustine, Florida. Willow had been abandoned, was heartworm positive, and had been overlooked many times—even once returned.
Today, she’s heartworm negative, thriving here in Minnesota, and the joy of our lives. Rescuing her has been one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.
That’s why Ruff Start Rescue’s mission means so much to me. They work every day to give animals like Willow the second chance they deserve—to find safety, healing, and a family who will love them unconditionally.
When I run Grandma’s Marathon in 2026, I’ll be running for Ruff Start Rescue and for every animal still waiting for their forever home.
Your support will make a real difference—for the animals, for the families who adopt them, and for the communities they touch. Thank you for helping me honor Willow’s journey and support Ruff Start’s incredible work!
